John O'Donohue's Anam Cara always offer thought for self development. Today the pages fell open at the following: "...Your soul knows the geography of your destiny. Your soul alone has the map of your future, therefore you can trust this indirect, oblique side of your self. If you do, it will take you where you need to go, but more importantly it will teach you a kindness of rhythm in your journey..."
Crystal healing, a different approach
Crystals are formed from various minerals and elements in many different combinations. With this in mind, along with the fact that minerals are essential to our very being, and a deficiency of a mineral or minerals can lead to ill health or even death, it made sense to me that there must be health benefits to be gained from absorbing (at the very least) minerals from gemstones/crystals through the skin. The skin is the largest organ of the body and is permeable allowing minute particles to be absorbed, be that for positive benefit or negative ill health.
What is the Latihan?
The latihan cannot be learned, but it can be transmitted from one person to another. All that is necessary is for the person who wishes to receive it to stand in the presence of someone who is actually receiving it, and to be willing to receive healing and illumination from the highest Source of our being. When a person has been “opened” and has begun to receive the action of the latihan, the manifestations of the Power of the latihan will begin to emerge, often subtly and even imperceptibly, but occasionally with striking vividness. The process is in any case different in each person, and proceeds slowly or more rapidly according to the nature and strength of the individual. It is usual to receive the latihan for half an hour twice a week in the company of others (men with men and women with women) and later, when it is well established, for an additional half hour at home.

Ready Steady Cook
Earlier this year I was invited to appear on Ready Steady Cook and talk about the colour energy in our food and how it relates to us on an emotional level. Here is a short extract of the programme - the audience voted for the Green Pepper team and we donated the prize money to The Paul O'Gorman Foundation for children with leukaemia. It was a wonderful experience and I hope you enjoy the colour therapy highlights and the cooking!
Relationship between Colour and Sound
Rene Brodie says: "Some practitioners believe that sound and light should be used together because whilst hey may be used to affect the same issue or difficulty being experienced by the patient, they work on different levels. Most believe that sound reaches the lower, physical levels of body tissue, etc while light is more attuned to the higher levels of thought and feeling. Dr. Caroline Shreeve wrote:" Colour is used as part of the Maman's synthesis and as a form of therapy in its own right. Each colour is part of the visible spectrum and has its own wavelength, and therefore, is affiliated with sound. Used in combination with sound at specific frequencies, the vitalizing and curative properties of colour are enhanced because sound 'earths' colour and conducts it to the relevant level of energy in the body requiring attention".
Observing Light
A simple, experimental method of observing the full range of additive colour mixtures obtained by combining any three primary lights was demonstrated by the Scots physicist James Clerk Maxwell in 1857. In his arrangement, red, green and blue primary lights are fixed one at each corner of a triangular board. Inside the triangle, all the colours that can be matched by mixing the three lights are not only seen in their appropriate position but their location can be plotted by drawing a grid of linear co-ordinates on the surface of the board (thereby obtaining a rudimentary 'chromaticity diagram').
Chris Hobby describes the mandala as having the potential and power to change your life. Simply gazing at a mandala can change many things about the way we view and live our lives. mandala derives from the Sanskrit word for 'magic' or 'sacred' circle, also interpreted as connection and community. A mandala is defined according to three principles of organisation : the central point, a radiation from this point and the circular outer border. The central point symbolises the mysterious energy centre, the birth place of all existence in space and time. It also symbolises unity, totality and perfection. It is without dimension or place : the circle and the sphere are born of it. These are manifested forms from a central point.
